The head of the WWE Vince McMahon has resigned after Janel Grant accused him of sex abuse and trafficking.
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) chief says he decided to step down “out of respect.”
Ms Grant, a former employee of the WWE, Mr McMahon sexually harassed him and trafficked to other men. She said McMahon ‘abused her” during his tenure as chief executive officer of the TKO. The TKO is a parent company of the WWE. “I decided to resign as executive chairman of TKO,” McMahon said in a statement, adding he was also resigning from the board out of respect.
He rejected the allegations and announced that he would face the charges in court.
“I stand by my prior statement that Ms Grant’s lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and is a vindictive distortion of the truth,” he said.
TKO president Nick Khan has officially confirmed McMahon’s resignation.
