Donald Trump has won the history US elections 2024 and set to become 47th president of the United States.
As the Republicans and Democrats shaped the US internal and external politics as per their agenda and manifesto in elections, major policies remain almost unchanged.
However, it was Donald Trump who after becoming 45th president introduced major shifts in US policies around the globe.
Underdeveloped countries and particularly Pakistan remained under influence of the United States after collapse of Soviet Union. However, China’s emergence as second world power during last couple of years again divided the world in two camps. Different countries seek one of the major powers support, either China or US, to strengthen their economy and defence.
Pakistan tried to establish relations with both the countries during last decade and it has become a difficult task for Islamabad to meet the demands of the two, considering its own interests. After CPEC, Pakistan also came under the influence of Beijing. As the relations between Washington and Beijing have become cold, Islamabad, which played a major role to bring the two nations close in 60s, is now in some sort of troubled water.
Ruling elite of Pakistan is now divided in two camps. One side is looking for support of China and the other seeking strong ties with the US. And the side which advocates Islamabad should look towards the US, is also divided in two camps. One is ally of the Democrats and the other supports Republicans. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its supporters is least sympathetic toward the former.
PTI believes the US administration under President Joe Biden has done nothing for the release of Imran Khan from Adiala Jail. They had the firm believe that when Trump would come to power, their leader would be out of jail.
Trump viral message about Imran Khan is fake
Although a fake clip is circulating in social media regarding Trump appeal to Pakistani-American voters to vote for him and he would make all efforts to get Imran Khan out of jail, many PTI supporters believe it is real.
It is hard to say that Trump would use his influence to get PTI founder chairman out of prison but possibilities are there. Trump is considered outspoken and bold in his decision and gives least importance to the US status quo. His famous statement on Kashmir during Imran visit as prime minister has created much noice. So, analysts believe now Imran Khan might come out of jail, considering his party’s senior leader Latif Khosa statement in which he predicted that the difficult days of PTI would end in November.
