Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Ameen Gandapur is positive that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan would be released from jail soon.
Speaking to local media, Chief Minister KP neither acknowledged nor denied his participation in Bushra Bibi’s release. When asked about his purported participation, he avoided giving a direct answer, stating that Bushra Bibi had been released on the court’s order.
“She was jailed in fabricated cases,” he claimed, adding that Bushra is now free after the court granted her bail. He claimed that Khan will be out from jail soon as well.
Gandapur also said, “We don’t believe in deals and will not enter into one.”
When asked why he believes Khan would be released from prison soon, he said, “Because cases regarding [Imran] Khan are also fraudulent.”
He further said, “We are neither against the institution (army) nor against any person (army chief).” We oppose their choices and want them to be changed.”
He stated that the PTI’s campaign for rights was not only nonviolent, but also legal and constitutional in nature. The PTI demands an investigation into the February 8 polls and the May 9 occurrences, he said.
According to PTI sources, Gandapur told his party officials that he had played a role in Bushra Bibi’s sudden release from jail. According to PTI insiders, Gandapur was aware that Bushra, the PTI founder’s wife, would not be detained in any other cases.
