Hum TV’s acclaimed drama serial ‘Ishq Murshid’ has garnered widespread popularity for its distinctive storyline and stellar casting, particularly the on-screen chemistry between Durefishan Saleem and Bilal Abbas.
Directed by Farooq Rind and scripted by Abdul Khaliq Khan, the drama has captivated audiences.
During a recent appearance on Something Haute’s show Haute Talk, hosted by Hassan Choudhary, the writer disclosed the male actors he had considered for the character of Shahmeer.
“I had several names in mind as we aimed to cast well-known actors for the prime 8:00 pm slot to capture fans’ interest. We considered Ahad Raza Mir, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Wahaj Ali, and Bilal Abbas for the lead role. Ahad Raza Mir requested the complete script, which wasn’t feasible. Hamza Ali Abbasi was preoccupied with Jaan E Jahan, although I envisioned him for the roles of Fazal Baksh and politician Shahmeer. Wahaj Ali was already committed to Tere Bin, so we didn’t pursue him extensively, despite approaching him. All four were approached, but fortunately, Bilal Abbas demonstrated a deeper understanding of our script. He read the initial episodes and comprehended the character well, which greatly aided us.”
