Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur is allegedly arrested in the capital city on Saturday after arriving in Islamabad.
CM Ali was leading the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) convey to Islamabad. Gandapur left for KP house and has been missing since then.
Gandapur’s brother, Faisal Siddiqui, informed mediaabout his arrest. PTI’s Omar Ayub also confirmed the news, while KP spokesperson Barrister Saif stated that he had lost contact with Gandapur.
However, some government sources disputed the reports, claiming that Gandapur’s arrest was not accurate.
As per latest reports, Ali Amin Gandapur is till inside KP house with other leaders of PTI.
Ali Amin has been put under house arrest to minimize his movement amid protest in Islamabad. Some source also claim that CM KP has left for Peshawar, but there is no confirmation regarding the news.
Previously, Gandapur supporters and police erupted into chaos and unleashed thousands of short and long-range shells. Heavy machinery joined the convoy during the barrage. When Gandapur crossed the checkpoint the protesters followed him.
It is also important to mention that CM KP is currently on bail by PHC and can not be arrested in any cases.
