Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is expected to be discharged from Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital today, as per doctors statement.
Dr. Nitin Dange, the attending doctor at Lilavati Hospital, confirmed the development on Tuesday morning. “Khan’s discharge papers were prepared the previous night and he will leave the hospital between 10 am and 12 pm”, he stated.
Saif Ali Khan was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital following a shocking stabbing incident during a burglary attempt at his Mumbai home last Thursday. The attacker reportedly stabbed the actor nearly six times with a sharp knife and fled the scene.
After the assault, Khan was urgently taken to Lilavati Hospital in an autorickshaw where he underwent two surgeries to treat his injuries.
The Mumbai Police are actively investigating the case and have detained suspects connected to the attack.
Initially, the suspect was identified as 31-year-old Akash Kanojia, who was apprehended on a train traveling from Chhattisgarh to Mumbai. However, recent reports from Indian media outlets now suggest that the suspect is actually a Bangladeshi national named Mohammad Sharif Islam.
As per police reports the suspect was employed by a housekeeping agency in Thane and was arrested near a metro construction site in Hiranandani Estate. Reports suggest that he had been working in various locations in Mumbai and Thane for approximately seven to eight months.
Saif fans and colleagues from the industry have expressed their relief and extended their best wishes to the actor following this traumatic event.
