WhatsApp has unveiled an exciting new feature that allows users to customize their video calls by changing the background or adding filters, enhancing the overall experience.
In a recent blog announcement, the messaging platform stated, “Conversations on WhatsApp should always feel fun and expressive, and today we’re rolling out filters and backgrounds to make your video calls even more engaging. With these new effects, you can now change your background or add a filter for a more personal touch.”
Also, WhatsApp is introducing Touch Up and Low Light features, designed to enhance users’ appearance and brighten their environment, making video calls more vibrant and enjoyable.
To use these features during a one-on-one or group video call, simply tap the effects icon located at the top right of the screen to explore and select from the available filters and backgrounds.
This new functionality will be rolled out to all users in the coming weeks.
The new filters aim to create a lively atmosphere, enabling users to add color or artistic flair to their video calls. Users can also maintain privacy by selecting backgrounds that transport them to cozy environments, like a coffee shop or a stylish living room.
With a selection of 10 filters and 10 backgrounds, users can mix and match to achieve a unique look. The filter options include Warm, Cool, Black & White, Light Leak, Dreamy, Prism Light, Fisheye, Vintage TV, Frosted Glass, and Duo Tone. Background options range from Blur and Living Room to Office, Café, Beach, Sunset, and Forest.
