WhatsApp is set to enhance its personalization options for iOS users. The application introduced new custom chat themes and color choices in its latest beta update.
The update, which is part of version 24.20.71, expands the app’s customization features to include 22 unique themes and 20 color variations.
According to WABetaInfo, this update significantly increases the options available for personalizing chat interfaces.
In earlier versions, WhatsApp had experimented with Instagram-like themes, allowing users to assign different themes to specific contacts or groups.
Originally, users could only choose from around ten preset themes. However, this new update more than doubles the number of options, offering a much more diverse range of designs.
To access the new themes, users can go to the Chat Info section within any conversation and change the chat’s color.
Once a color is selected, WhatsApp will automatically match a wallpaper to fit the chosen theme.
Users can also manually adjust the wallpaper if they want to create a more distinctive look, even if multiple chats share the same color scheme.
The new themes not only change chat bubbles but also come with corresponding wallpapers.
WhatsApp has added a preview feature to make it easier for users to see how the themes will look before applying them.
If desired, users can also set a universal theme across all chats by going to Settings > Chats > Chat Wallpaper.
