WhatsApp introduced new features to improve user interaction in stories and status updates.
The messaging app allows users to tag others in their stories, enabling more personalized and interactive connections with friends and family.
With this update, users can mention contacts in their stories, and the tagged person will receive a notification. The person tagged also has the option to re-share the story.
Another feature rolling out is the ability to like stories. Previously, users could only see how many views their stories received, but now they can show appreciation through likes.
Unlike other platforms, WhatsApp has made likes private—only the story’s creator can see who liked it, ensuring user privacy.
WhatsApp also maintains discretion by not showing third parties who have been tagged or liked a story.
While these features have begun rolling out, they may not be available to everyone right now, though wider access is expected in the coming days.
