The PTI appealed for the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of the case after calling the recovery of Intezar Hussain Panjutha, the lawyer of former prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, on Saturday night “scripted.”
Intezar is a senior lawyer who has been working as lawyer to Imran Khan in number of cases.
His abduction and way of recovery is another example of human rights violations in Pakistan.
No one can image the discrimination that a regular man endures if he spoke out against the government and its policies, especially if someone who was born in Pakistan, received an education, worked hard to pass the bar, and was honored to represent a former prime minister is treated like this.
Intezar’s face showed signs of physical and psychological torture. If this is what the state does to people because they disagree with them or because you hate a former prime minister, then it’s becoming harder for the average person to live in this nation.
Taxpayers in the West are guaranteed their rights, but in Pakistan, they are viewed as state servants who suffer inflation, violations of human rights, and a lack of facilities in exchange for nothing.
The state will punish (them) by kidnapping or imprisoning on false pretenses if he demands his rights.
The attorney general, who stated in the high court that Intezar Panjutha would be brought before the court within 24 hours, implied that he knew where he was. The PTI further urged that a formal complaint be made against the attorney general.
The PTI leader was reportedly being carried by his kidnappers when he was apprehended by police in Attock. He was later taken to the hospital by the police.
Panjutha has been missing since October 8. A case concerning his disappearance is currently before the Islamabad High Court.
