The release date for the highly anticipated Pakistani web series, Barzakh, starring Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed, has been announced. The series is set to premiere on July 19 on Zindagi’s YouTube channel and Zee5.
Written and directed by Asim Abbasi, known for his previous successes with Churails and Cake (Pakistan’s 2018 Oscar submission), Barzakh promises to be an engaging watch. Zee Zindagi recently unveiled six posters for the series, generating excitement among fans.
The official announcement on the station’s X account read, “When all has withered…will love endure? Barzakh Premieres 19th July on Zindagi’s YouTube and Zee5 Shows.” Sanam Saeed also shared the posters on Instagram.
Barzakh made a significant debut at the prestigious Series Mania Festival in France in 2023. This series marks Abbasi’s second project with the network and reunites Sanam and Fawad for the first time since their hit series Zindagi Gulzar Hai in 2013.
The story of Barzakh revolves around a 76-year-old recluse who invites his estranged children and grandchildren to his remote resort in the stunning Hunza Valley for an extraordinary event: his marriage to the ghost of his first true love. This poignant tale explores the mysteries of life, the afterlife, and the enduring power of love.
The six-episode series features a talented cast including Salman Shahid, Eman Suleman, Khushhal Khan, Faiza Gillani, Anika Zulfikar, and Franco Giusti, alongside the lead stars Sanam Saeed and Fawad Khan.
