Pakistan Metrological Department has issued weather alert, predicting the country might experience heavy rain, thunder and hailstorm and intense weather system during next ten days.
The met office stated that a new spell of torrential rain has entered Balochistan and is likely to spread across Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir in next 12 hours.
As per the weather advisory by the Metrological Department, parts of Balochistan and other low-lying areas are likely to face flash floods.
Heavy rain has already wreaked havoc in different cities of Balochistan including its capital.
Karachi, interior Sindh, upper Punjab have also witnessed light to heavy rain on Thursday morning and noon, according to the Met Office and district authorities.
The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) stated the country is likely to face series of weather conditions till April 29 as the National Disaster Management Authority has asked the provincial governments and district authorities to remain vigilant to respond to emergencies.
Reports said rain-related incident and lightning strikes took life of more than 60 people in different areas of Pakistan during last two days.
Balochistan
Heavy rain and floods have badly affected different districts of Balochistan including Gwadar, Kharan, Panjgur, Jiwani, Kech, Awaran, Kalat, Noshki, Lasbella, Khuzdar, Pasni, Ormara and Washuk.
Flooding and rain water damaged roads, disconnecting inter-city links and Quetta from the rest of the areas. Reports said the rainwater also damaged the railways track at different locations.
Sindh
Karachi, Rohti, Larkana, Jacobabad, Sukkur and other areas of lower and upper Sindh witnessed light to heavy rain Wednesday and Thursday.
Reports says the rainwater restricted traffic movement, causing problems for people in Keamari, North Karachi, Old Airport.
Rain was reported in Larkana, Mohenjo Daro, Jamshoro, Dadu, Naushahro Feroze, Sanghar, Hyderabad, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Kambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Khairpur, Sukkur, Mitiari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Thatta, Sujawal and Ghotki on Thursday.
Punjab
According to reports, Jehlum, Chakwal, Attock, Muree, Mandi Bahuddin, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Mianwali, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Sing, Jhang, Sargodha and Khushab received light to heavy rains on Thursday. Met office predicted rains in central and upper Punjab during next couple of days.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Different districts of KP received rain and snowfall on Thursday as the Met Office forecast light to heavy rain in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Karak, Khyber, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Kurram Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Waziristan, Kohat and Lakki Marwat,.
Farmers particularly in Punjab and Sindh have been asked by the authorities to take all preventive measure to save the crops. Reports say the wheat crop is likely to face damages as the harvesting season started in entire Pakistan.
