Former Pakistani captain and cricket analyst Wasim Akram wants the Indian cricket team to play the Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
While speaking to the media in Melbourne regarding the Champions Trophy. The cricket legend stated, “All eyes of the cricket world are set on the upcoming Champions Trophy to be held next year in Pakistan.”
He added, ” India should come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Cricket fans in Pakistan are eagerly waiting for Indian players, India should think about it and reconsider their visit to Pakistan.”
Previously, many Pakistani cricketers also voiced their remarks and stated that India should visit Pakistan.
Furthermore, when asked about the issue of Fakhar Zaman’s tweet, Wasim expressed the Board’s displeasure on it.
Wasim remarked, ” Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not happy about Fakhar Zaman’s tweet.” He added that “It’s not a big deal if Pakistan wins at least one ODI in Australia”.
When asked about the national team management, he said, “Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is doing a great job for cricket, he can run cricket board in a professional manner, I was also offered a job but I am not a 9 to 5 job guy”.
In response to the question about Mohammad Rizwan’s Captaincy, Wasim added “Mohammad Rizwan has captaincy experience, I think his a good choice, he will be focusing on the game.”
The Pakistan cricket team will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20 Internationals against Australia in Melbourne. The three ODI series will commence from November 4.
