LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari made a passionate appeal to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters during a rally in Lahore, urging them to throw their support behind his party in the upcoming general elections. He promised to put an end to the politics of revenge and division that has plagued the country’s political landscape.
Bilawal, speaking from personal experience, expressed his empathy for the oppression faced by PTI workers, particularly under the rule of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). He criticized the PML-N for engaging in vengeful politics and “terrorizing PTI workers,” highlighting the PPP’s consistent opposition to retaliatory politics and its advocacy for the release of political prisoners.

He urged the nation to steer clear of the divisive politics of the 1990s and emphasized the need for unity and progress.
Bilawal also made a direct appeal to the youth aligned with PTI, urging them to cast their votes in the upcoming elections. He reminded the audience of the historical significance of Lahore in welcoming Benazir Bhutto, and the city’s role in her election as the prime minister of the country.
