Extravagant weddings have become the norm, with many couples trying to outshine each other by showcasing their wealth.
However, morning show host Nida Yasir, who tied the knot 22 years ago, recalls a time when weddings were simpler and less expensive.
A clip of Nida’s conversation with actor Faisal Qureshi is currently making rounds on social media, where he asked about the costs of her wedding to director Yasir Nawaz.
Reflecting on her career, Nida mentioned that there was once a demand for wedding content on morning shows, but trends have shifted in recent years. She also noted that it’s been over 15 years since she began hosting.
Recalling her own wedding, she shared that only three main events were organized. The Milad and Mayon took place on the same day, followed by the Mehndi and Barat.
“It’s been 22 years since my wedding,” she said, adding that the total cost for the three events came to one million rupees, with Yasir covering the expenses of the Walimah.
Nida Yasir and Yasir Nawaz, who got married in 2002, are now parents to three children.
