Indian actor Vikrant Massey’s hit film ’12th Fail’, a biopic portraying the journey of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, is poised for release on over 20,000 cinema screens throughout China.
According to reports from Indian entertainment sources, Vikrant Massey’s portrayal of Indian IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, who triumphed over adversity to join the civil services, will soon be showcased on over 20,000 screens across China, as confirmed by the actor himself.
While Massey didn’t reveal whether he would be traveling to China for the film’s promotion, he expressed excitement about the development, stating, “It is too soon to talk about that, but I am really excited because, after a long time, something like this has happened.”
He further elaborated, “It has been in the works for a few months, but finally, the news is out, and everyone knows that the film is releasing in China. There is a huge demand for Hindi cinema or Indian cinema in China. There are more than 20,000 screens [given to 12th Fail]. China caters to the entertainment sector and hence the numbers [of screens].”
Previously, Aamir Khan’s blockbusters ‘Dangal’ and ‘Secret Superstar’ were released in China over 8 years ago.
Based on the best-selling book of the same name by Indian author Anurag Pathak, ’12th Fail’ recounts the real-life story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the biographical drama features Vikrant Massey in the lead role, alongside Medha Shankar, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee.
Originally released in India on October 27 last year, the film was later re-released in dubbed versions in Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu on November 3, following its remarkable success in Hindi. It received praise from both audiences and critics alike.
