An accountability court on Wednesday reserved its decision on Bushra Bibi’s acquittal plea in the 190 million pounds reference.
The verdict will be announced on September 5 (tomorrow).
The cross-examination of the final witness from NAB would also be conducted tomorrow
The court declared the contempt of court petition against the Chairman NAB ineffective.
Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the Accountability Court in Islamabad heard the 190 million pounds reference at Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi.
During the hearing, the founder of PTI and Bushra Bibi were presented before the court from jail.
The founder of PTI’s lawyer, Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas, was absent, resulting in incomplete cross-examination of NAB’s investigating officer, Mian Umar Nadeem. During the hearing, Bushra Bibi’s lawyer, Usman Riaz Gul, presented arguments for her acquittal plea in the 190 million pounds reference.
NAB’s Prosecutor General, Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi, and Amjad Pervaiz argued against the acquittal plea. After both sides presented their arguments, the court reserved its decision on Bushra Bibi’s acquittal plea, which will be announced on September 5.
Regarding the acquittal plea, the court declared the contempt of court petition against the Chairman NAB ineffective. The contempt petition had been filed by Bushra Bibi’s lawyer due to the non-presentation of arguments on the acquittal plea.
