Ushna Shah, known for her candid nature, once again stood her ground against social media trolls who attempted to criticize her recent outfit choice.
The actress, who has never been one to let online negativity influence her, made it clear that she wouldn’t be swayed by the backlash.
On Wednesday, Ushna shared a video on her social media where she was seen enjoying a day at the LIV Golf League event. The video, captioned with praise for the event, showed her in shorts alongside her husband. However, the attire quickly drew criticism from some social media users.
In response to the flood of negative comments, Ushna took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to address the situation head-on. She pointed out the irony in the criticism, noting that she comes from a liberal background, having grown up in Canada, where wearing shorts was common among her friends.
Now married to a man with a similar background, she expressed bewilderment at how her Pakistani audience reacts so strongly to her clothing choices when she’s abroad.
Ushna also reflected on a past incident where she felt pressured to apologize for wearing a red choli at her wedding and dancing, an apology she now regrets.
She highlighted the double standards of those who criticize her while admiring other celebrities for similar behavior. Ushna made it clear that she is done with catering to such hypocrisy, stating, “I’m in my ‘over it’ era. I choose to live my life & be happy.”
Her defiant stance has garnered support from many who believe in her right to dress as she pleases and live her life on her own terms.
