US foreign office spokesperson Matthew Miller has expressed concern on the arrest of PTI leaders during a seeking briefing at White House.
Answering a question from a journalist, he said they have watched the reports on arrest of the PTI leaders. The US always expressed concern whenever the government arrested the opposition leaders.
It is merit mentioning here that FIA arrested the PTI spokesperson Rauf Hassan from party’s main secretariat and he is currently in the custody of the Federal Investigation Agency on two-day physical remand.
Mathew Miller said the United Stated supported democracy and protection of human rights in all over the world. He said the US demands Pakistan should be run according to the law and constitution.
US aid:
Meanwhile US Bureau of South and Central Asia Assistant Secretary Donald Lu has said the US President has requested the Congress for the aid recommendation for Pakistan. He said President Joe Biden has requested $580 million aid for South Asia region for 2025 which is five percent more than the previous year. Mr Lu said Pakistan to receive $100 million from the aid.
