US Presidential Election: As the presidential election voting procedure ended in most of the United States, Trump led ahead of Harris. However, voting continues in Western states.
According to the recent polls, Donald Trump is leading in 16 states and Kamala Harris is leading in 12 states.
Trump won Texas, Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia, Tennessee, Missouri, Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida and South Carolina. In contrast, Kamala Harris won in New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, and Washington, DC.
As seen in the recent exit polls, the probability of Trump’s victory has increased to 93.4 percent, while Kamala’s victory probability has decreased to only 7.4 percent.
Donald Trump’s victory chances in the main states, Pennsylvania is eighty-five percent and in the state of Georgia, he is close to victory. Either of the Presidential candidates needs two hundred and seventy-six electoral votes to become President.
This year more than 24 million people will cast a vote for the presidential election whereas 7 million people have already cast their vote before the polling day.
Both Republican and Democratic candidates also cast their votes. Harris cast her vote by email in Michigan and Trump cast in Florida.
As reported by American media, Kamala Harris is one point ahead of Trump at the national level. At the national level; 47 percent of voters support Trump and 48 percent want Harris to be the next president.
The world’s attention is on the swing states, where Democratic and Republican candidates are anticipated to compete closely.
Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Wisconsin collectively hold 66 electoral votes.
In the Electoral College projections, Kamala Harris is expected to receive 226 votes, while Donald Trump is forecasted to secure 219.
To maintain order and address potential threats against election staff, strict security measures have been implemented for the US presidential election. National Guards have been deployed in Oregon, Washington, and Nevada, and the FBI has set up command posts to address security concerns.
Since 2020, election security laws have been in place in 19 states, including Arizona, Michigan, and Nevada. In seven key swing states, officials are focusing on voter confidence, security, and transparent election processes.
