The United States of America (USA) announced the closure of its embassy in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, following the threats of a major attack by Russia.
On the one hand, Russia has changed its nuclear doctrine after receiving permission from the US to use long-range missiles.
As soon as permission was granted by the US, Ukraine attacked Russia with US-made missiles. In response, Russia destroyed five out of six long-range missiles.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia has said that on the completion of 1000 days of the war, Ukraine has launched US-made ATACMS missiles in the Bryansk region of Russia.
The attack occurred just two days after the Biden administration authorized Kyiv to use U.S. long-range weapons against targets within Russia.
Marking this as the first time, Ukraine used long-range US weapons to strike targets deep inside Russia.
At 3:25 p.m. local time on Tuesday, Ukraine fired six ballistic missiles at an installation in Bryansk, the Russian Defense Ministry said, using US-made ATACMS missiles.
Russian air defenses reported intercepting five missiles, with one causing minor damage.
Debris from the downed missile hit a military installation in Russia, igniting a fire that responders quickly extinguished without causing any casualties or property damage.
