ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan and an American company have signed an agreement to establish Pink Rock Salt Crushing and Packaging Facility in the South Asian country.
The agreement was signed between Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation and US-Based Miracle Saltworks Collective Incorporation in Islamabad under the umbrella of Special Investment Facilitation Council.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar, among others, witnessed the signing ceremony.

The project is set to attract a significant foreign direct investment of 200 million dollars, showcasing the confidence and enthusiasm of the international community in this groundbreaking venture.
Commercial production of 150,000 tonnes per annum is expected to be commenced from June, 2026
The planned facility will be strategically located in the Special Economic Zone in Mianwali.
Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation works under the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum), and is headquartered in Islamabad.
Pakistan is blessed with huge rock salt deposits and estimated reserve are over 65 million metric ton, whereas PMDC reserves are over 36 million tons, which include reserves of both pink rock salt from Salt Range region and grey salt from Kohat Saline Series.
Pakistan’s Pink Rock Salt have its own uniqueness in terms of purity and the presence of various trace elements, which make it the most suitable food grade salt, compared to its counterparts. The uniqueness of pink rock salt has opened trade and business opportunities across the globe and the demand is on rise consistently.
