Urvashi Rautela leaked video sparked controversy in 2024 when a bathroom scene from her film Ghuspaithiya unexpectedly circulated on social media.
Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, the actress revealed that the leak was a calculated move, approved by her after the filmmakers sought her consent.
During the interview, Rautela called Ghuspaithiya an exceptional project and shared the backstory behind the decision to release the scene.
She explained that the filmmakers were struggling financially and approached her in desperation.
According to Rautela, they disclosed that their financial troubles were so severe they were on the brink of selling their property and losing everything.
The actress elaborated, “They were caught in a web of debts and loans, and their situation had become critical. They came to me, visibly distressed, and spoke to my team.”
Urvashi Rautela leaked video was already part of the film, nothing extraordinary, and makers requested permission to release it early. It was a way to raise awareness, especially for girls, to be cautious.
Directed by Susi Ganesan, Ghuspaithiya is a crime drama and the Hindi adaptation of the Tamil film Thiruttu Payale 2 (2017).
The movie features Urvashi Rautela, Vineet Kumar Singh, Govind Namdev, and Akshay Oberoi in lead roles. It premiered in theaters on August 9, 2024.
