Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Raoof Hasan was attacked by unidentified men in Islamabad, reports say. TV screens showed him bleeding and eyewitnesses said the assailants stabbed him with knife.
A local TV reported that four men tried to kidnapped him but after resistance from Raoof they fled from the scene, injuring Mr Hasan.
The PTI leader was attending a TV program before the attack which occurred outside the private channel. The police reached the site and investigating the incident. Police is also checking the CCTV footage to identify the attackers. Raoof is said to be stable and received treatment from local hospital.
