Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman expressed anger on PML-N president Nawaz Sharif message to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on latter’s victory in election.
“Your [Nawaz Sharif] good wishes to butcher of Gujrat and killers of Muslims in India and people of Kashmir is unacceptable to people of Pakistan,” he said during a press conference at JI headquarters Mansoorah Lahore.
Former prime minister of Pakistan and Modi recently exchanged pleasentries on X. Sharif said: “My warm felicitations to Modi Ji on assuming office for the third time. Your party’s success in recent elections reflects the confidence of the people in your leadership. Let us replace hate with hope and seize the opportunity to shape the destiny of the two billion people of South Asia.”
Modi reacted and wrote on X: “I appreciate your message, Nawaz Sharif. The people of India always stood for peace, security, and progressive ideals.”
JI Emir said the entire world declared that the Hindutva leader’s party, BJP, actually loss elections and people of India rejected it. He said he is surprised why Nawaz Sharif is dying for friendship with Modi.
Rehman is harsh critic of the PML-N, PPP and MQM and believed the trio came to power with fake mandate and with the backing of the country’s powerful military establishment. He repeatedly call for judicial inquiry into alleged rigging in Feb 8 national poll.
During the presser, he also rejected the budget as document of IMF slavery, asserting the current government lacked capacity to put the country on track and fix the national economy. Restore the real mandate of the people of Pakistan and declare result on the basis of Form 45, he demanded.
Rehman said the finance minister himself accepted that the government failed to meet economic targets for financial year 2023-24. He held the PPP equally responsible for economic disaster, sharing common agenda of loot with other two ruling parties, the PML-N and the MQM. He was of the view that only mass resistance was the solution to get rid of the corrupt rulers, announcing the JI would lead the movement after Eidul Adha.
