Two police officers were killed by unknown armed men on motorcycles in the Jabukhel area of Lakki Marwat, on Monday.
According to a police officer, the armed men attacked the very two police officers while they were performing their duty.
Police Department Spokesperson Shahid Hameed says that the incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Ghanikhel police station.
The injured were Constables Khan Bahadar and Hikmatullah. They were moving from Kherukhel Pacca to job station.
The spokeswoman reported that the assassins killed both the constables straight away after injuring them seriously.
After committing the assault, the assailants took to motorcycles to escape.
Shahbazkhel and Shaheed Haibat Ali Khan are two police stations present in Darra Pezu town.
The slain cops were carried to the District Headquarters Hospital in Tajazai for a post-mortem inquiry.
Immediately after the arrival of the officers, a huge force of law enforcement personnel started combing the area to try and locate the attackers.
However, so far, no organization has claimed responsibility for the attack.
There are increasing reports of violence against the security forces, mostly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, which the episode attests.
It is so as their outlawed group Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) escalated attacks on them after breaking its truce with the government last year 2022.

On the same day, terrorists killed three people and eighteen others died, including injured nine police officers. It occured in three bombings and an attack on a police checkpoint on January 1.
The interior ministry reported forces have carried out 2,801 IBOs in the first 10 months of 2024 and have killed 341 terrorists. However, the Security forces continue to fight against the worsening threat.
