Just two months remain until the US presidential election, and polls released recently indicate a close contest between Democratic contender and Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump.
According to a study by Siena College and The New York Times, Trump leads Harris by only one percentage point, at 48%.
However, Harris has risen to the top with 49 percent of the vote, giving her a 2-point advantage over Trump when national surveys are averaged.
As the contenders get ready for their first televised debate on September 10, the poll findings emphasize how close the race is.
The debate, which is scheduled to happen at the ABC News studios in New York, will be a pivotal event for both candidates as they compete for support from the electorate before the election on November 5.
Almost thirty percent of the participants acknowledged that they lacked knowledge about Harris’s political position, suggesting possible obstacles for the Democratic contender in fortifying her platform among voters.
However, the majority of people think they understand Trump’s political stances rather well.
Both candidates should anticipate their campaigns to pick up steam as the election draws near, concentrating on crucial battleground states and undecided voters who have the power to change the result of the contest.
