In a surprising turn President of United States Donald Trump has called the Ukrainian president Volodymir Zelensky a “Dictator”.
This came days after Trump began to initiate talks with Russia on Ukraine Conflict.
Experts are concerned that Trump’s actions are prompting a new world order putting US and Europe at crossroads.
The ripples began last Wednesday when the US president announced that he and Vladimir Putin had made a plan to negotiate quick end to the war.
Now in the latest development Trump had called Zelensky a “Dictator”.
US since the start of war had provided Ukraine with massive Aid. However, this was all in previous regime. The newer administration hinted at agreeing on Russian term
Earlier, Zelensky lashed out at Trump for excluding Ukraine from peace talks initiating in Saudi Arabia and urged for fair talks.
“Decisions on how to end the war in Ukraine cannot be made without Ukraine, nor can any conditions be imposed,” Zelensky said from Turkey.
In response Trump now criticized Zelensky for refusing to hold elections and accused his administration of violating agreements.
“Zelensky’s country has been destroyed and that he himself is responsible for the deaths of millions, “he said in post shared on social media truth.
In a setback for Ukraine, US has taken a back step from supporting Ukraine and started advocating for ceasefire.
Trump added US is successfully negotiating with Russia to end the conflict.
German Foreign Minister Anna Lena Baerbock and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson called the criticism of Trump against Zelensky for not holding elections baseless.
British Prime Minister Sir Keir starker also reiterated his support to Zelensky. Moreover, he emphasized the need for suspending elections during the War.
