U.S. President Donald Trump freezes military aid to Ukraine after a heated argument with Zelensky.
Last week in the Oval Office, President of the United States, Donald Trump, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky exchanged a heated argument that has left a strain on the relationships of two countries.
The shift in stance of the U.S. towards Ukraine and Russia happened after Trump took over the office.
During last week’s meeting at Oval Office, Trump also criticized him for being ungrateful towards the United States for their aid and backing in the war against Russia.
As per the official stated that U.S. is currently planning to pause and review aid to ensure its contribution to the solution.
Reuters report, President Trump is focused on peace and he also wants the partners to be committed to that goal.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s meeting with United States President Donald Trump turned disastrous as they end up in a heated argument on Friday.
The two leaders exchanged verbal blows in front of international media at oval office over the war with Russia.
The tense encounter at white house was marked by booing and harsh words with various allegations at both ends.
Zelensky’s visit was planned to discuss the Russian-Ukraine conflict and to gain US support.
Ukrainian president aimed to convince Trump not to side with Russia, who on the orders of Vladimir Putin invaded the Ukraine three years before.
Instead, Zelensky, Trump and Vice President JD Vance exchanged the words, while Zelensky underlining how the new administration in Washington undermined Ukraine’s attempts to harness western support for its war effort.
Vance emphasized the need for diplomacy to solve the conflict, however, Zelensky rebuttal him that Putin cannot be trusted in negotiations.
Zelensky left the oval office soon after the clash, without signing the much-talked minerals deal.
