The US Congress’s Pakistan Caucus has a new chairman, Tom Suozzi, a Democratic congressman from New York, after Sheila Jackson Lee passed away.
Tom said that he is committed to enhancing the bilateral ties between Pakistan and the US. Tom has been a member of Congress since 2017.
Tom recently spoke about how excited he is about the position and how he plans to work to improve the two countries’ collaboration.
Tom was invited to visit Pakistan by community leader Tanveer Ahmed and Democratic politician Dr. Asif Riaz Qadeer after his appointment.
November is when Tom is scheduled to visit the nation after accepting the invitation.
Former Pakistan Caucus head Sheila Jackson Lee, who passed away, was a fervent supporter of Pakistan, especially during periods of natural calamity.
The Pakistani government awarded her Hilal-e-Pakistan as a token of appreciation for her contributions.
