Today weather update: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted less rain than usual this winter, there is no possibility of rain in Balochistan during December, but there will be less rain than usual in January.
The Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz Khan said that there is a forecast of less rain than usual in the country during the current winter.
He said that Balochistan will have a dry winter during the month of December and there is no possibility of rain this month.
The chief further added, that a rain system will form in early January, which may cause rain and snow in the northern areas of the province.
The cold will increase as the rain and snowfall start in the upper parts of the country, causing the temperature of the mercury to drop to minus -7°C degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, winter has reached its peak in the country, snowfall continues in the mountainous areas, lakes and waterfalls froze in Ghizer, tourists were rescued in Shogran, mercury in Quetta also dropped to minus -4°C and gusty winds in Karachi brought down the mercury.
Pakistan’s Meteorological Department has predicted severe frost until December 14. There is snow everywhere in the upper parts of the country, due to which silver has scattered on the mountains, vehicles, houses, and trees are covered in snow.
A white blanket has doubled the beauty of the tourist spot in Shogran, while 300 stranded tourists have been rescued.
Snowfall continues in Swat’s tourist destinations Malam Jabba and Kalam, where the falling temperature has frozen everything, while snowfall has stopped in Murree but the scenery has improved, and in Ghizer, the rivers and waterfalls have frozen.
A large number of tourists have flocked to Galiyat, the mercury has also dropped 4 degrees below freezing in Quetta, while strong winds have also brought down the mercury in Karachi.
The cold has gone into top gear in the country, clouds have fallen in many cities, and the cold is likely to increase
