Deputy Commissioner of Swat set an alert in the area due to rising concerns over potential terrorism threats. For public security DC has ordered to postpone all public gatherings.
This alert came after the announcement of peace march by the Swat Qaumi Jirga. March was planned to held after Jumma prayers.
This march was set against the artificial terrorism in the region. The jirga announced that we will not allow anyone to use our territory for agendas.
The peace march will held at Nishat Chowk, Mingora, at 2pm. Local police have made special security arrangements to protect the participants.
Major political parties, lawyers, the business community, and civil society members have confirmed that they will support this march. Influential personalities have said that they will participate in march.
The Swat Qaumi Jirga has denied to postpone this peace march. They have rejected this alert.
The jirga has announced that march will be held on the said time.
Community leaders have asked the participants to be united in case of trouble.
