In a tragic incident on Sunday in the village of Chak Chohdo, near Kunjah, Gujrat, a 14-year-old boy named Rehan allegedly stabbed a middle-aged man, Syed Nazeer Hussain Shah, during a confrontation reportedly over sectarian differences.
Reports said that Rehan, who is the son of a local mosque’s prayer leader, engaged in a brief but heated exchange with Shah. The altercation quickly escalated, and Rehan allegedly attacked Shah with a knife, inflicting multiple wounds before fleeing the scene.
Shah was rushed to the Kunjah Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries despite the efforts of medical staff. An autopsy was performed, and the body was subsequently returned to Shah’s family.
The Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) collected evidence from the scene of the crime, and authorities have filed charges against Rehan, his father, and his uncle under sections 302, 34, and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The complaint was lodged by Shabeer Hussain Shah, the victim’s brother.
Police are actively searching for the suspects, and the motive behind the stabbing is expected to become clearer once they are apprehended and questioned. A police spokesperson noted that the investigation is ongoing, and they are pursuing all leads to bring those involved to justice.
