In Denver, the capital of the U.S. state of Colorado, a $9 million (over 2.3 billion PKR) hotel is being sold for just $10 (approximately 2,700 PKR), leaving social media users astonished.
This offer has left social media users in shock worldwide. Many thought there will be a twist behind this offer, and they were not wrong.
According to foreign media reports, this exceptionally low price comes with one condition. According to condition the buyer must agree to completely renovate the building and convert it into a shelter for homeless individuals.
The city of Denver purchased a former hotel, Stay Inn, for $9 million in 2023. Although the city made minor improvements, the building still requires extensive work.
The city’s intention is to support the homeless population, which is why the condition has been imposed that whoever purchases the hotel must transform it into housing to assist those in need.
This unique offer has left people in awe, creating curiosity about who will buy this property with a challenging condition of renovating the hotel and converting it to a shelter for the homeless.
According to spokesperson for Denver’s Housing Department, Derek Woodbury, the process of selecting a developer for the renovation project has begun. “Applications are being reviewed, and the proposal will eventually be sent to the City Council for approval”, he wrote.
In an email statement, Woodbury expressed that he is hopeful to make this initiative beneficial for homeless. “We are hopeful to find a pathway to convert the hotel into supportive housing that will truly help our community”, his statement read.
