SSP ranked officer was allegedly attacked by the banned Tehrik-I-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in a minor explosion in Turbat, Balochistan.
A spokesperson for the Balochistan provincial government reported the details of the occurance.
Investigations are underway to determine nature of the explosion while SSP Zohaib Mohsin was injured. In charge of the attack was the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti called the incident heartbreaking and condemned the killings. While paying his respects to mourning family members, he prayed for the recovery of the injured and referred to the perpetrators as heartless.
In another incident from Qila Saifullah, one man was injured after a bomb hit a vehicle of the gas company.
Officials disclosed that terrorists wanted to target an Oil and Gas Development Corporation Limited site near that location.
The suicide bombing at Quetta Railway Station in November had killed 26 and injured 62 people.
That attack highlighted the fact that the amount of terror carried out in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had increased in 2024.
