Fashion designer Fahad Hussayn has publicly addressed Maria B’s recent criticism of the series “Barzakh.”
Taking to social media, Hussayn expressed his views, stating: “Is no one going to correct her? Why are we allowing her to spread such hate-filled content? Are we supposed to take responsibility for her struggling career? Instead of focusing on minority hatred, why are we concerned about what someone filmed? Watching it is a choice, after all. Where are our priorities? Who gave her the right to speak on matters she doesn’t fully understand?”
This comes after Maria B, a prominent designer and activist, voiced her objections to “Barzakh,” a new series directed by Asim Abbasi and featuring Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed.
The show, which includes mystical elements and queer themes, has stirred controversy.
In a video on her Instagram, Maria B accused “Barzakh” of promoting vulgarity.
She claimed that the series pushes an LGBTQ agenda, normalizes pre-marital sex, and presents themes that could negatively influence children.
In response to Hussayn, Maria B remarked, “People like you will never understand what faith is or what it means to stand against immorality.”
