Sindh Government has announced a public holiday for all public and private educational institutions across the province, in observance of the holy night of Shab-e-Barat on Monday, February 26th, 2024.
Shab-e-Barat, also known as the Night of Forgiveness, is significant for Muslims worldwide. Falling on the 15th night of the Islamic month of Sha’ban, it’s a time for prayer, reflection, and seeking forgiveness. Muslims engage in practices like special prayers, visiting graveyards, and acts of charity during this night.
This closure acknowledges the importance of Shab-e-Barat for the Muslim community in Sindh, allowing them to freely participate in its traditions.
While schools are closed, some might organize online or offline events commemorating the occasion.
