Sindh’s Minister for Culture and Tourism, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, has appointed a two-member committee to investigate the mysterious disappearance of artwork created by painter Safdar Ali Soomro.
The investigation will be led by the Director General of Antiquities and the Director General of Culture, who are tasked with conducting a detailed inquiry and submitting a full report on the missing paintings.
Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah stated, “A thorough investigation is underway, and we will take necessary steps based on the report’s conclusions. Any form of negligence or wrongdoing will be dealt with appropriately.”
In response, Big Bang Entertainment released a statement on Instagram, expressing their sympathy for the artist but distancing themselves from the issue. They clarified, “As producers and artists, we sympathize with the situation. However, Big Bang Entertainment was not involved. The filming location was rented, and as per our agreement, all items, including the artwork, were the responsibility of the venue owners.”
They further added, “This situation is outside our production team’s control, and we advise the artist to take up the matter with the appropriate parties. We hope for a quick and fair resolution while continuing to celebrate the success of ‘Kabhi Mein Kabhi Tum,’ which has gained immense popularity.”
Safdar Ali Soomro, an emerging artist from Daharki, Sindh, was unaware that his missing paintings had made an appearance in the hit drama Kabhi Mein Kabhi Tum.
The show, currently a sensation both in Pakistan and internationally, received widespread acclaim for its compelling storyline and characters.
The unexpected twist came when Soomro recognized his lost artwork displayed in the background of one of the scenes.
