Former captain of Pakistan Cricket Team Shoaib Malik has tied the knot with Sana Javed—a well-known actress who made her debut in the drama industry in 2012 with Shehr-e-Zat.
Malik (41) posted pictures of marriage on Twitter on Saturday with the caption of the Quran verse: “And We created you as in pairs.”
It is the third marriage of the all-rounder cricketer who announced retirement from the professional game in 2021. Malik married Ayesha Siddiqui, a teacher by profession, in 2006 but he divorced her in 2010 before marrying Indian tennis star Sania Mirza the same year. Reports confirmed divorce between Sania and Shoaib.
Born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 30-year-old actress Sana Javed had previously married singer-actor Umair Jaswal in 2020 who they divorced in November 2023. It makes the second marriage Sana with Malik.
The former skipper tied the knot with known Indian tennis star Sania Mirza in 2010 in Hyderabad, India—Mirz’s hometown. Although the rumours of divorce and separation had circulated between the athletes for a couple of years, they consistently rejected the hearsay.
Sania (37) started her tennis career in 2003 and announced retirement last February during the WTA Dubai Duty-Free Championship. The ex-couple also has a son Izhan Mirza Malik who turned five in October.
Social media users expressed mixed views on the second marriage of Malik with many extended congratulations to the new couple while others lamented the reported separation from Mirza as a sad development.
