Following Pakistan’s 2-0 defeat to England in the recently concluded four-match Twenty20 International series at the Kennington Oval, where the Men in Green lost by 7 wickets against the former T20I World Cup champions, former captain of Pakistan, Shoaib Malik, offered words of encouragement to the national team.
Taking to X, Malik gave the squad advice to be positive, emphasizing the importance of Babar Azam’s batting position and the spirits of the important players.
In order to improve the effectiveness of Pakistan’s middle order, which may bat around him as he rotates the strike, Malik recommended that captain Babar Azam think about playing at number three.
Malik also spoke about Azam Khan and Shadab Khan, telling them not to lose hope in the face of their recent disappointments. His message was very clear: as the squad gets ready for the T20 World Cup next month, holding onto resilience and self-belief will be essential.
Pakistan will now head directly to the United States, where they will play their first match on June 6 in Dallas against the co-hosts, and their second match on June 9 in New York against India, their bitter rivals.
