Security forces killed 7 Khawarij in two separate intelligence-based operations in Dera Ismail Khan.
According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), the first operation was carried out in the Daraban area on intelligence inputs about the presence of Khawarij, during which the security forces killed 4 Khawarij.
The second operation was carried out in the Madi area where the security forces killed 3 more Khawarij, while arms and ammunition were also recovered from the Khawarij during the operations.
The ISPR said that the slain Khawarij were involved in several acts of terrorism, including attacks against security forces and innocent civilians.
A sanitization operation is underway given the possible presence of Khawarij in the area.
The ISPR further said that the security forces are fully committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism from the country and will continue their efforts in this regard.
