Security forces killed two terrorists and captured one in Swat:
The security forces neutralized two terrorists and captured one from Swat’s Charbagh area on Friday. According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was intelligence-based.
During the operation, an intense exchange of gunfire led to the elimination of two militants.
Among those killed was a high-profile terrorist, Attaullah alias Mehran, known for organizing several deadly attacks.
He was also the mastermind behind a recent landmine attack targeting a convoy of foreign nationals on September 22.
One more terrorist was injured and subsequently taken into custody. Security forces have expanded their search efforts in the surrounding area to ensure no terrorists remain at large, as per ISPR’s report.
The ISPR official stated that “Security agencies remain steadfast in their mission to eliminate the menace of terrorism from Pakistan.”
Punjab CTD arrests 18 terrorists in multiple cities:
Simultaneously, the Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted intelligence-driven operations in various cities across the province, resulting in the arrest of 18 terrorists.
These operations, launched in response to terror threats, were carried out in key locations including Lahore, Khushab, Gujranwala, Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Mandi Bahauddin, and Mianwali.
Officials revealed that three terrorists were apprehended in Lahore, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi.
The arrests led to the recovery of weapons, ammunition, and banned extremist literature. The suspects had plans to incite fear and carry out attacks in densely populated areas.
In addition, the CTD has been conducting extensive combing operations, leading to the detention of 278 individuals suspected of having links to terrorist activities this week.
