The Government of Punjab has imposed Section 144 in Lahore for six days, banning all political gatherings, sit-ins, protests, and similar activities. This similar action is imposed in Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, and Mianwali.
The Punjab Home Department’s notification confirmed that the ban will last from Thursday, October 3, to Tuesday, October 8. According to the authorities, there are security threats for terrorist attacks in these cities.
The decision to enforce Section 144 came based on recommendations from the district administration.
Earlier, on October 1, authorities imposed Section 144 in Faisalabad and Bahawalpur for two days and in Mianwali for seven days to prevent political gatherings and protests due to terrorism concerns.
Authorities emphasize that the ban aims to safeguard citizens and maintain peace.
