The project will house Saudi Arabia’s national football team and host important national and international sporting events as part of the Kingdom’s larger goals to make Riyadh a worldwide sports center. Large-scale entertainment spectacles will also take place there.
The stadium is a significant landmark for the growth of the city because of its advantageous location along King Salman Road, next to the vast King Abdulaziz Park.
The stadium’s form is compared to seeds sprouting and penetrating the ground in the King Salman Stadium masterplan, which showcases an inventive architectural idea inspired by nature. Vibrant planted pathways that connect the stadium to other business areas are another example of the stadium’s architecture, which prioritizes spectator participation.
On days when there are no games, these pathways will be transformed into lively areas with shopping and recreational opportunities, guaranteeing that the stadium remains a center of activity all year long.
