The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ambassador, Nawaf Bin Said Al-Malki, reaffirmed the Kingdom’s steadfast commitment to fostering Pakistan’s economic development on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued by the Finance Division, the ambassador made these comments at a meeting with Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb.
The statement said, “Al-Malki praised the Government of Pakistan’s efforts in carrying out structural and institutional reforms.”
According to the statement, the Finance Minister expressed gratitude for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s “continuous economic support to Pakistan” during the meeting.
He emphasized the increasing interest Saudi investors have showed in working with Pakistan’s private sector on joint ventures and commercial alliances.
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have a complex and long-standing connection. With more than two million Pakistani expats living there, the Kingdom is still one of the South Asian nation’s top trading partners.
During the discussion, the finance minister also spoke about the successful talks he had in April of this year in Washington with Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), and Saudi Arabia’s finance minister, Mohammed Al-Jadaan.
