The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia will host the third edition of the Global AI Summit from September 10 to 12, with the goal of establishing the kingdom as a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and emphasizing the role of governments in leveraging AI for economic growth.
The meeting, entitled “Leveraging AI for the Betterment of Humanity,” will be held in Riyadh.
It will cover subjects such ethical AI development and AI applications in urban environments, with an emphasis on mobility, urban planning, mental health, and resource management.
According to SPA, the discussion will also include the role of AI in government.
“The summit will delve into AI’s current capabilities, future, and the boundaries of ethics that we must establish to ensure its positive effect on society,” said Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi, president of the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority, which is organizing the event.
The summit will bring together over 300 professionals and speakers from 100 different nations, as well as over 120 interactive events and workshops.
According to the organizer, these will cover a wide range of AI topics, including generative AI and how it fits into smart cities.
