Singer Sara Raza Khan recently shared her unfiltered thoughts on fellow artists Aima Baig and Mehwish Hayat during an appearance on Zabardast with Wasi Shah.
Commenting on Aima Baig’s singing, Sara Raza Khan suggested that without the aid of auto-tune, Aima might not be considered a singer, implying a heavy reliance on the vocal enhancement tool.
Sara also shared her perspective on Mehwish Hayat’s musical abilities, noting that while Mehwish is well-regarded as an actress and entertainer, she does not possess the skills to excel in singing.
“If I were casting for a film or item song, I’d choose Mehwish for her acting, not her singing,” Sara stated, describing her opinion as simply an honest assessment.
Following Sara’s remarks, the discussion around auto-tune quickly stirred reactions online, drawing support and criticism.
Singer Momina Mustehsan stepped in to defend Aima, commenting on Instagram that Aima is “one of the best” in the industry and that her talent stands on its own without auto-tune.
Momina also acknowledged Sara’s talent, saying, “Sara Raza Khan is also a good singer and does not need autotune,” in an attempt to show respect for both artists and diffuse tensions among fans.
