Renowned Pakistani comedian and actor Saleem Albela, celebrated for his performances in stage dramas and shows like Saya E Khuda E Zuljalal and Khabarnaak, recently shared deeply personal stories of loss.
Hailing from Lahore, Albela is also a digital media sensation with 1.45 million subscribers on YouTube, often admired for his collaborations with colleague Goga Pasroori.
During an emotional appearance on Wasi Shah’s show Zabardast, Albela recounted two devastating incidents that left a lasting impact on his life.
Reflecting on the loss of his young daughter, Farwa, he revealed, “I was away performing at an out-of-town show, during a time when communication was difficult due to the lack of mobile and landline phones. Upon returning home, I couldn’t find my daughter. My mother broke the news that they had tried to reach me but couldn’t. Farwa had passed away and was already buried.”
Albela also spoke about the tragic death of his wife during childbirth. “I was performing in a drama when I received the devastating news from my cousin, conveyed through my colleagues. She passed away, leaving behind four young children. It was one of the hardest moments of my life,” he said.
The actor’s candid revelations moved audiences, showcasing the strength behind his on-screen humor and resilience in the face of personal tragedy.
