Pakistani opening batsman Saim Ayub has provided an update on his recovery after undergoing a medical examination in London.
The young cricketer was seen by renowned specialist Dr. David Redfern at a central London clinic, where he completed his second evaluation on Thursday.
Following the check-up, Saim was discharged and spoke about his progress.
“The doctors have confirmed that my ankle is healing well, and I am now able to put weight on it,” Saim shared.
He also mentioned that his medical reports would be reviewed by the PCB’s medical panel to decide the next steps in his recovery.
Assistant coach Azhar Mahmood expressed optimism about Saim’s recovery, stating, “We’re grateful for the positive progress. The medical panel will soon determine whether surgery is necessary.”
Saim sustained the injury during the Cape Town Test against South Africa. Following recommendations from the PCB Chairman, he was sent to London for advanced treatment to ensure a swift recovery.
