Saeed Anwar, celebrated for his breathtaking cover drives on the cricket pitch, has ignited a firestorm of debate by attributing the surge in divorce rates to women.
Despite his on-field heroics, Anwar’s recent remarks regarding the role of working women have drawn widespread criticism and raised questions about societal perceptions of gender roles.
Reporter Murtaza Ali Shah posted a video in which Anwar is seen saying that divorce rates increased by 30% because women began to work and earn their own money. Anwar also talked about meeting an Australian mayor who claimed that their culture suffered when women began to work outside the home.
Anwar has drawn criticism for focusing solely on women’s problems and ignoring the actions of men ever since the video was posted on social media.
Fans are upset with the former opener for his outdated remarks about women being independent.
